What a special and beautiful event this was to organize! Setting up a press conference with a celebration at a remote location, right in the middle of the kunuku (plantation/countryside)! This was an amazing challenge with a fantastic final result!
Between Kralendijk and Rincon, off the road, lies Plantage Fontein. Due to the freshwater spring there, this plantation is considered a hidden oasis.
I had the honor of organizing an event at this beautiful, yet remote, location. I had to take into account, among other things:
- 15 press members who all needed power
- A press table with microphones for Minister Van der Wal Zeggelink and Deputies Thielman and Craane
- High tables and cozy seating for approximately 70 guests
- Setting up a bar, arranging drinks and ice
- Guests were also served delicious snacks
Since it was an open space ‘in the middle of nowhere,’ I had also arranged:
- Restrooms
- Ambient lighting for when it got dark”
Additionally, the following was arranged:
- Awa di lamunchi
- Passion fruit juice
- Tamarind juice
- Fruit punch
Have you ever tried any of these local drinks on Bonaire?
Specially coming from the Netherlands was Minister for Nature and Nitrogen Christianne van der Wal – Zeggelink for the press conference and the festivities following the unveiling of the entrance sign!
Here is the link to the article about this event that was published on Bonaire.nu: Festive meeting in connection with the purchase of Plantation Fontein on Bonaire – Bonaire.Nu
I am extremely proud of the result and found it really amazing to transform an open space ‘in the forest/kunuku’ into a charming event venue with everything needed! My thanks go out to everyone who helped make this happen.
