The National Ombudsman came to Bonaire! I was asked to arrange everything on-site so that the National Ombudsman could be fully relieved of any concerns. All visitors were warmly welcomed, given a place to sit, and offered drinks and a pastechi.
I was asked to arrange, among other things, a hostess to manage everything smoothly and to handle the food & beverage. With extensive experience in hospitality and because it seemed like a lot of fun, I decided that I wanted to be the hostess myself!
The office hours were for visitors who felt that something was going wrong between them and the government. They had questions or complaints about government agencies, such as the police, the Public Prosecutor’s Office, or the public entity. The office hours were conducted in Dutch, Papiamentu, Spanish, and English, so that everyone could make themselves understood.
